So yesterday I went to see Tangled with frogdance!!
First off, it was such a gorgeous movie. There were times where I was just kind of sitting there going durrrrr. The character designs were fabulous and everything moved so smoothly and ahhhh. AND RAPUNZEL. I was worried after the title change that the movie wasn't going to be her movie. But no! She determines her own story, saves herself, and is generally awesome and adorable and feisty. I loved that the ending didn't keep her "princess pretty." I just. Want Eugene and Rapunzel to go on adventures forever.
SPEAKING OF. How awesome was Eugene/Flynn? I'm a sucker for dudebro heroes, who know that the ladies in their lives can kick their ass (please see the Prince and Elika from Prince of Persia 2008). He was a huge doofus, and STILL a huge doofus at the end of the movie, just a little uh...kinder? I dunno. DOOFUS.
Didn't like how Rapunzel's mother was implied to have only loved her for her magic powers. Can a female villain have a goal that isn't eternal youth? Please? Also that bullshit about how your birth parents are your only "real" family. Whatever, Disney!
Then Michi took me out for bukkake udon.
Said to me today by B, aged two years and ten weeks:
"Do you still have boobies? [after patting my chest] Oh. No boobies. :("
