85-й день голодовки журналиста Аль Кика - Вахта протеста в Хайфе
На 85-й день голодовки Мухаммада Аль-Кика (Muhammad Al-Qiq),
протестующего против незаконного административного задержания,
жизнь палестинского журналиста находится в крайней опасности!
17 февраля в Хайфе состоится вахта протеста с требованием его немедленного освобождения.
Решение Верховного суда не допустить перевода Аль-Кика на лечение в Рамаллу является фактически политическим решением, равнозначным смертному приговору.
Около тысячи граждан Израиля уже подписали нижеследующую петицию с призывом о его освобождении.

Ваша Честь, Господин Президент Реувен Ривлин!
Мы просим Вашего незамедлительного вмешательства, чтобы спасти жизнь журналиста Аль-Кика. Все другие средства не дали результата, и теперь продолжающий голодовку Мухаммад Аль-Кик находится на пороге смерти.
Аль Кик имеет право знать, какие обвинения против него выдвинуты, и ответить на эти обвинения. Если его вина не установлена, он должен быть немедленно освобожден: таким правом наделены все израильтяне. Им наделены и все живущие в свободных странах. Почему же Аль Кик лишен этого права?
Государство Израиль превратило административное задержание (лишение свободы без предъявления обвинения, без ограничений по времени, без всяких прав) в произвольный и широко применяемый способ лишения свободы.
Аль Кик отвергает предложенные ему "сделки", потому что в них он бездоказательно признается виновным. Более того, когда на подобные сделки шли в прошлом другие голодовщики и прекращали голодовку, такого человека освобождали, но через несколько месяцев вновь задерживали.
Господин Президент, мы просим вашего вмешательства ради спасения жизни уважаемого и достойного человека, журналиста Аль Кика. Это также будет способствовать укреплению нашей шаткой демократии.

The decision of the “Supreme” court to prevent Al-Qiq’s transfer for medical treatment in Ramallah exposed the lie of the so-called “suspension” of his detention. It is actually a political ruling, amounting in practice to the summary execution of Muhammad Al-Qiq, in order to teach us all that Palestinians have no Human Rights.

Nearly a thousand Israeli citizens have already signed the petition calling for release of huger-striking detainee Mohammad Al Qiq
Your Honor, Mr. President Reuven Rivlin
We call upon you to urgently intervene to save the life of journalist Al Qiq. All other means have failed and now, with the continuation of his hunger strike, Mohammad Al Qiq is on the threshold of death.
Al Qiq is entitled to the basic human right: knowing what are the charges against him, and being able to answer to these charges. If no guilt is found, then he must be released, immediately. This right is granted to all Israelis. It is granted to all human beings residing in free countries. Why is Al Qiq not allowed to share in it?
The state of Israel has turned Administrative Detentions (imprisonment with no charges, no time limit, no rights) into an arbitrary, widespread tool for imprisonment.
Al Qiq objects to the "deals" offered to him because they take for granted his guilt. Moreover, such "deals" were struck in the past with earlier hunger striking detainees - whereupon the hunger strike stopped, the person was released and… a few months later, was back again in detention.
Honorable President, please intervene on behalf of journalist Al Qiq. Save the life of this man of honor and dignity. This shall also contribute to the strengthening our nowadays shaky democracy.
