i know i haven't posted anything in a while, and many of you might be wondering what the hell i've been up to. as such, i'm going to write about the worst wine i've ever had.
- Bolla, Sangiovese di Romagna '02, Verona, Italy
-smells mild and fruity with a slight hint of battery acid
-tastes... well, there is no overall rounded-out, theme-tying taste to this wine. it tastes like bottled emptiness and disappointment with painfully sour and bitter fringes, much like what i expect to feel after i see the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie. or the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory remake.
misc notes:
-my aunt recommended this wine, as it's her favorite. i've always vocalized this sentiment in the past, but now i have liquid proof. my aunt is an idiot.
-i've been a strong proponent of cheap wines. apparently, it's possible to fall out the bottom and land in the grape-and-feces laden dumpster. this wine apparently goes for something like $4.50/bottle. perhaps anything under $6 is suspect.
and as an addendum, when i tried to pull out the cork from this wine after stopping it, in the hopes that aeration would work its magic, the fucking cork broke off in my hand. god what a piece of shit.
