yet another emo rant from the lee you've come to love...
(hopefully)
so this time im saddened by yet another thing that shouldnt be depressing...
because i needed to do something with my life, i decided to apply to a community college in riverside. good thing, right?
wrong. according to my parents, i should be going to MSJC (mount san jacinto college) which is about a 20-30 minute walk from my house.
but i dont want to go there. why? i have no real reason against my prejudices for MSJC, it just seems like going there would be an extension
of my torment in high school, since its a 10 minute walk to get to it from the college and my house...
it seems that ME driving 45 minutes a day (or whenever i had classes) poses as an inconvience to my parents.
WHY? i have no idea. since gas prices are relatively stable and we have a stable income, i see no inconvience whatsoever as to driving to my first pick community college.
but alas, it still seems to pose a threat to them.
Its too dangerous
its dangerous to be alive in the world, and you drive the same amout of time i would to get to work and back, on an even more dangerous road.
Why dont you go where its closer, we have a community college right here.
no, i dont want to go to that community college. going there would make me feel inadequate and less of a person, and the riverside one has nearly twice as many classes you will be able to take.
If you dont want to go to the one in town, go to its sister school in Menifee. Its closer too.
what a bunch of bologna. it takes 25-30 minutes to drive there, and like i said, not as many classes. and there is nowhere to go in Menifee. its a cowtown.
the distance thing is the only problem in this whole fiasco. DISTANCE. the one i want to go to is about 30 miles away while the one they would rather have me go to is about 18. i find it silly that they want me to compromise my dreams and aspirations when my entire life all they ever told me was that i could be who i wanted to be.
>.<
they made me cry when they told me to look into san jacinto. i clearly dont want to go there. they have high school students and the elderly go there! and it seems like all the idiots that couldnt apply to a regular college go there until they save up money and move away, which is part of the reason why i would feel inadeqate going there
my friend also added the fact that going to san jacinto community college is like going to highschool, the professors are like teachers and the work is like highschool homework. going to riverside actually feels like college to her, which scares her but would most likely be a breath of fresh air to me.
so there you have it. im upset because i cant go to the college i want. not because of money or my grades, but because of the drive to it.
