Travelling and reaching 100
So I just got back from Cairns. I went up there with my Grandfather for a 100th birthday party and met lots of people from Grandma's side of the family as we usually associate more with Grandad's side of the family.
We had a problem with the car on the way up though and both the rims and tyres on the passenger side bit the dust. So we had to bus from Ayr to Townsville to get a hire car and continue on to Innisfail where we stayed for a could of days. We went to Paronella Park and it was awesome, I had no idea something like that was around. The architecture and the stories behind it was amazing, I took about 200 photos just at the park, so some of them will eventually make it to my deviant art.
Anyway we went to Cairns on the Tuesday and the room we had booked was supposed to have free internet but the people there said no it's not but we'll look into it and then they did nothing. So I had no internet for aages and was the main reason I took my laptop to use the internets. Anyway that night I went out for dinner and to have a look at the night markets and I got totally lost. Grandad rang to say he was done at this thing he went to and would cruise the esplanade until he saw me and pick me up, but I got tired of waiting for him and walked back to the hotel, he was in the foyer and not looking for me at all and he reckoned he hadn't said it either. The he wondered why I was upset with him, I absolutly hate it when people don't do what they say they are going to do.
Next day was the party which was ok and then we went to the DFO (Direct Factory Outlet) when we got back to the hotel I twisted my ankle really badly in the carpark so the rest of the trip in Cairns was pretty much spent on crutches so I couldn't do any of the bush walks or anything. The hotel hard about it and asked me what they could get me because they were afraid of getting sued. I should have told them to get me the internet access for free we were supposed to have, but I flaked :(
Anyways on crutches for the rest of the trip and then back home, I hope my ankle gets better soon. Before Coles rings and I have induction and stuff.
