First week.

Well that’s it I’m here. I finally got my bags packed and under the weight limit of 20kgs in time to have a relaxing dinner with the family on Thursday night (the 17th) at a really good Chinese food place to say goodbye, and then we went to Baskin and Robins for dessert. I traveled to Proserpine on the train on Thursday night/Friday morning and got in about 7am, where my boss Nicole picked me up and took me to the place I am staying until I get somewhere else.

The week has been pretty good, I haven’t felt like I was getting snowed under or anything. I was a bit bummed out on Wednesday the 23rd because the weather was foul and just pouring with rain, so Aunty Jen and Uncle B dropped off some stuff the family had sent up for me and spent some time with me during my lunch hour and then pushed on, instead of sticking around for a few days. This was something I had really been looking forward too, so I was really disappointed.

The weekend was interesting though, Nicole and I went out on a boat called the Silent Night, on Friday afternoon and came back about lunchtime on Sunday. There were 14 people on the boat in all, and two of them were the crew. Aside from Nicole, myself and the crew everyone else were backpackers and six of them were Irish, it was an invasion lol. Anyway they were all really interesting, but I had a little trouble understanding some of the Irish people sometimes because of their accents. I had fun on Friday night as two of the girls on the boat (Danielle and Rosie) tried to teach me and Sam (one of the crew and a very good cook) to play Rummy, I think Sam got it but I really didn’t get it at all.

There was one bad thing though, I was so incredibly tried I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I would have liked to. I slept for 10 hours on Saturday night and that’s just not normal, I can’t remember a time I haven’t felt tired all the time though, so I am going to see a doctor about that.
