Ugh. I'm feeling so distracted and fidgity and unfocused lately. I can't focus on my job when I'm there - I just think about all the other things I could be doing (like posting on LJ, doing dishes, doing all the things I have to do for YTP, sleeping, etc.). But when I'm not at my job, I can't seem to find the motivation to do any of the things that I've got to get done! My list is alarmingly long now. I know the drill - prioritize, take it one piece at a time, delegate some things... etc. But I'm not doing any of it. I'm not ok with letting things slide, but apparently I'm ok enough with it because I keep doing it. I wonder if I'm just not good at running under all this pressure anymore. Suzanne asked me to costume asst. with her show at UML this November for $300, and while I could SO use the money, I don't really want ANY responsibility. At all. But, well, the money. Of course, if I wasn't procrastinating, if I was happier, I prolly wouldn't spend money on those 8 million little "inexpensive" things I buy 'cause it makes me feel good.
Like, going on payless.com. It's
BOGO time, and they have so many cute things right now. See? Here:
ok, I'm on the booty bandwagon:
The Tate Oxford Bootie. $30. I like the multi-finishes, and it's actually pretty comfy. Great with pants (can wear warm socks!) or with dresses/skirts and tights.
The American Eagle Maddie Ankle Boot. A little more at $38. Cute with the same pants and skirts (only brown in nature) and SO perfect for my dark skinny jeans. Also VERY comfortable - the heel isn't too high. Could walk in these all day.
Kane platform sling at $28 (Payless house designer - well done!). I don't currently own a pair of black heels with a closed toe. I really like the almond toe shape, and I think these could dress up or down. The LBD of black pumps.
American Eagle Latte Mary Jane for $25. Not entirely practical for my wardrobe - they're really a sage green even though they look kinda grey in this pic, and I have very little other than jeans that would go with them. But I love them for everything. The round toe, the double strap, two-tone block heel. Yes please.
The Quincy D'orsay pump (Lela Rose) for $35. Perversely, I have a metric-ton of clothes that will go with orange (thanks to a pair of orange "sexy librarian" shoes I got in Burlington a few years ago). This are super cute, although I can already see I'll need to add some
gels...
Also, I need a pair of black flats for work. I have gold-ish metallic ones that I wear with just about everything, and a pair of cutie maroon ones that do the trick but rub in a weird spot, but I'd like something a little more traditional too. Here's what I like at Payless (and I could get two pairs for this price!)
Ludlow Patent MJ (alice+olivia) for $34. Edgy for flats, and I'd have to contend with the red on the straps, but I hear that the flats with elastic like this one are the most comfortable. Still, they're not my faves - just interesting.
Sibly ribbed flat (Lela Rose) for her pleasure? Well, mine at least. It's navy, so that's a challenge (most of my stuff is black based) but I really like the black "bow" detail and the texture of the fabric. Again, $34, which must be the "designer" level for their flats this fall.
I must be drinking the "bow" kool-aid. Lela Rose's Sanborn flat ($34) is darling. I love the satin. And it comes in
grey!
The cute (but lame-named) Flare Button Flat. At $23 it's the cheapest, and I really like the plaid, but I do worry that it would rub in the same awkward place that my maroon flats do - the knuckle under the big toe. Still, they're totally cute and fall-y and professional.
Which one is your fav? Are any of them worth it? but... it's BOGO!
