Les Mis dork rambles

Listening to Les Mis, 10th Anniversary. I'm making a point to listen to songs I don't always focus on because I love the entire musical that much. I adore Bring Him Home more than I honestly remember. To be honest, I adore Colm Wilkenson more than I remember. I remember thinking of him as the Jean Valjean, but there's so much more to him. He gives that role so much, yes, but there's such a passion in his voice. He drives me to tears sometimes, in Valjean's Soliloquy most among all of his performances in Les Mis.

My favorite performance will probably always be Ruthie Henshall's I Dreamed a Dream. Apparently it's popular for that to be someone's favorite Les Mis song, but I don't care. The raw emotion mixed in with such a lovely voice... Ahhhh, I have to repeat this one, I think.

And, of course, I would be wrong not to mention Philip Quast as Javert. His voice is amazing, really. In some ways, I feel more sorry for Javert than I do for anyone else.
