The first book in The Complete C.S. Lewis Signature Classics is probably the most popular, namely Mere Christianity. It was originally a BBC radio talk show from 1942-1944 while Lewis was at Oxford. I recently read through What Have They Done with Jesus? "Beyond Strange Theories and Bad History - Why We Can Trust the Bible" by famed New Testament scholar, Ben Witherington III.
