quick update before bed...
so, I went home today.
Driving through monsoon-like conditions, quite possibly the hardest rain i've ever seen all the way up 140, 24 and half of 495, was the hardest thing i've ever had to do. I could not see a thing. It was terrible. I finally made it home though around 2:30 and it basically sucked. My mom was being a wench like always and my dad barely uttered 3 words to me the whole time. I've never felt more awkward and unwelcome in my own house. Not to mention my mom tells me that my great aunt Barbara died last Thursday. I'm glad, ya know, that they told me 2 days after the fact. Would it have been that hard to pick up the phone and call me and tell me? I don't think so. And it's not like she was all upset about it, or even pretended to be. She comes into the room where i'm sitting at the computer and goes "oh did anyone tell you Barbara died?" like it was some common every day event. Like Barbara dies once a day. But yeah, they are having a small service for her Wednesday and I don't know if I can go yet seeing as how i have four classes on Wednesdays. I really want to, and I guess it wouldn't hurt to miss those classes once. We'll have to see. I'll talk to my professors on Monday and see if it's alright. Death sucks man. I wasn't close with my Auntie Barbara at all, I only ever saw her on the holidays, but even still, it sucks.
