Jenny had to admit, there was something oddly comforting about falling asleep next to Jason, her tiny body pressed against his. More than anything so far, she was fairly certain that had to be her favorite part of all of this. As much as she tried to act like she wasn't, part of her was undeniably still a little girl, and it was easier to settle into that lying in bed in the dark, both of them still. She didn't know what she was expecting from this -- certainly not anyone serious, a guy his age wouldn't stay exclusively with a girl as young as her forever -- but at moments like these, it seemed, if not perfect, then maybe kind of close to it. She wasn't the sentimental type, though, not with something like this, and therefore never would have said so.

Given all of that, though, it was about the last thing she was expecting to be woken up by Jason tossing and turning beside her, clearly distressed even as he slept. Bleary-eyed and more than half-asleep, Jenny squinted, reaching a gentle hand out to try to settle him. "Jason, Jason, it's okay," she murmured, her voice hoarse. "There's nothing wrong." Or, if there was, she was too sleepy to notice it, and that was virtually the same thing, as far as she was concerned.
