I think Dick Callum and Titty Walker marry in 1941 - probably rather late in 1941. Given the situation at the time, and that they are both involved in making Secret Stuff somewhere in Hertfordshire, they didn't plan to start a family immediately - and don't. Very interesting to see how Edward grows up! It is fun to think of Rosie growing up to be a scientist.

I did want one of them at least, not necessarily a Callum, to be a scientist, but that it should be Rosie in particular wasn't my own idea. (It might have felt like borderline self-insertion to me.)
