Hi Everyone,
So how is your summer going? Mine is going way too fast!!!! I snarl at anyone who says teachers get three months off in the summer...it is TWO months and it goes really, really fast! And yeah, I know I'm lucky, but still I snarl!!!
Writing is good! I'm just shy of twenty thousand. I set myself a goal each day, and then when I complete that goal I stop. Which is good because I feel no pressure after I make the goal. The rest of the day I am free. On the other hand, I'm expecting to have some busy days in the next week or two. Maybe it would be better to get somewhat ahead. I don't know.
What I do know is that writing a rough draft is like searching for treasure in a very deep mud pit. It's messy and gloopy-really messy and really gloopy. Trash and treasure all look the same--brown and muddy--and logical order of things does not exist.
I'm really tempted to try for the August Camp NaNo challenge too. I suspect that my current story is not that good, and I remember when I was most successful at writing HP Fanfiction, I did actually write two rough drafts in a row. I tossed the first one, and the second became the story, Best Served Cold, which I still occasionally get favorable reviews for. So yup, I'm thinking about doing the August challenge, but since I have to go back to work...I don't know how I will manage it. Still, anyone want to join me? I have no idea, plot wise what I would write for August, but lucky for me, I have the book No Plot, No Problem. :-D
Can't wait for Harry Potter! We're going to a double feature that starts at 9 PM Thursday night, and plays, I assume through 2:30 or so? I'm not looking forward to that drive home, but I do plan to take a nap beforehand.
