So far, I'm doing well. I'm over seven thousand words, and this is only the third day that I've actually written. I keep telling myself that a first draft is like an audition. I'm trying out different parts and different characters to see how they interact, who has chemistry, etc. It is okay if things don't work out perfectly in the first draft. I guess part of writing is that leap of faith...it will work out eventually.
I could't do this in November though. It takes me at least three hours to make my daily quota. Of course, I'm writing a little more this week because I know I won't have as much time during the 2nd and 3rd weeks in the month. Most of my problem though is that I'm not good at sitting still to write for an extended time period. I pop up out of my seat and wander the house at least half a dozen times an hour. This is why I can't write in a public place. At Barnes & Noble, when I do finally find an empty chair, I hop up and lose it ten minutes later...very annoying.
Still, I'm so excited that I've done as much as I have, and I still feel hopeful that I CAN DO THIS!
