I finally created a Twitter, not because I ever actually wanted to post something--I don't even post on Facebook. My school district posts messages through Twitter if schools are closed for a weather day or any other emergency info. So I have never "tweeted" at all and I have no plans to "tweet." Despite this, I have a fan. Go figure! Maybe she likes the blessed silence?
In other news, I finally broke down and joined Weight Watchers last night and I went to my first meeting today. My sister Julie joined the Weight Loss Center (really expensive) six or seven months ago, and she has done really well losing about forty pounds. She looks a lot better. Now though her membership with them has run out, and so she switched over to Weight Watchers. I decided to join her. Because it is easier to lose weight together, but also because if I can wear pants one size smaller, I can buy the petite size and I won't have to hem them up. Really high brow reasons right?
This is actually the first time I've ever done Weight Watchers. I tried Jenny Craig once but that was too expensive for me. What I'm liking so far are all the recipe ideas. Tomorrow, I plan to make Chicken Pot Pie! I so LOVE pot pie! The other cool thing is that there's an iPhone app for Weight Watchers, so I don't have to carry around all those books--daily tracker, restaurant guide, etc--to keep track of my points throughout the day.
Oh, and did everyone hear
what happened at one of the Weight Watchers' clinics in Sweeden? So I guess not everyone in Sweeden is blonde, tall and svelte? I'm glad that I don't have to worry about the floor collapsing at my Weight Watchers. We're all just that skinny--AND there are almost no basements in this part of Texas. You gotta feel for them though. It would be a scary thing to have happen to you, and on top of that, now comedians all over the world are making jokes about them. Seems like reason enough to be on Oprah.
I feel like I'm off schedule with everyone else who posts on LJ. Weekdays I'm generally too busy to post, so I post on weekends. I guess everyone else does the opposite?
