I make a resolution to write in my journal more often, and then what do I do? Totally ignore the thing for three months! I don't even know why; I've been trying to figure out why I haven't felt like writing when in the past I've been almost fanatical about keeping a record of my life (my livejournal entries stretch back to 1999!). that's exactly why I locked mine. I like knowing that the friends i have on here are the ones I can say whatever to, and not worry about it. :)

it makes sense, I don't think any of my students need to find out about drunken benders. i do sort of a half & half.

I agree. It's freeing knowing that the people reading your inner thoughts can be completely trusted. I've even messed with the groups feature, but that does feel a bit chicken shit. The again rereading my journal from the year before I locked it... I'd rather be chicken shit and lock it then have such carefully worded empty posts when I know there was so much more. It's worth it.
