First, I would like to thank all of my wonderful friends who left messages on my cell phone concerned of my whereabouts. Megan and I fled Monday night to New Roads to escape the traffic that was jammed up I-10, all four lanes (only a two-lane highway) going north. Glad you're ok and that Ivan did not attack you too viciously. Here in Atlanta, however, it is a bit of a different story. Outside my apartment off of Hemphill, the water came up half way on people's tires. I heard nothing but sirens for at least a 2.5 hour block, and at certain points I couldn't even see the trees and cars right outside of my window. Tech is actually expecting the ground floors of buildings on campus to flood, and we've been advised to take CPUs off the floor and keep 'em on our desks. So here, it's certainly not the end of the world, but it is very windy and very wet.

Oh and Happy 76th to Great Aunt Nava Jo! Woo!

Why did they evacuate the school?! I didn't realize the situation in New Orleans was predicted to be that bad...

yes. exactly. i suppose when you have 16 kids, you feel the need to spice up the Christening of a few select victims.
