Don't feel like a broken record. I can think of three people off the top of my head who have the power to invade my head so loudly with their hate that I can't always hear the knock at my door from somebody leaving me flowers. But it's always nice to open that door and see flowers.

Have you heard Michelle Obama's speech from the Democratic National Convention? She talked about going back to your community and improving it after getting an education, and so did... somebody else? The guy who spoke after Deval Patrick, maybe? Anyway, I thought it was way cool because I hardly convince myself that coming back to Medway could be a good thing, but maybe it is.

Business majoring: We need more good businesses. Places that create community instead of bland money-making schemes. Green businesses and businesses that serve the people who keep it going. You could even use your degree to manage a successful nonprofit. In any case, music does create community and inspire people to be more than the options they've been given. The greedy, boring business major thing is just a stereotype and I love shattering those.

Thanks. Everytime I freak out over whether or not I really want to major in business, I go online and look up all the possibilities. Last night I was reminded of working for a nonprofit and now I feel good again. =).

Plus, I've never been the type of person to fence myself in. I've never had one set group of friends, liked one single music genre, etc. I know choosing a major won't send me reeling on a track I can't adjust the direction of. I'm always dabbling in everything, and I usually love it all.

I'll be okay. And so will you! The plans you were describing are impressive.
