I have a lot of restrictions in my writing I noticed. I fear the cliche, I am afraid to be overly-detailed, I can't repeat myself. I esteem writing which distills the essence of what I am thinking. With all these self-imposed rules I don't write very much and when I start writing I immediately start critiquing everything about it. I have been

I used to place those restrictions on myself learned in college earning my degree in writing. Breaking all of them I find liberating and it ends up in more fruitful creativity. You already know the rules, break them and do whatever it is for real. Someone made up the "right" way at some point. Make up your own right way by breaking down your own barriers.
