Since I haven't posted in awhile so of you may be thinking that I've given up on the whole running thing. Thing is I havent - which is strange for me but I like the new leaf I have turned over.
I had a bit of a set back not long after I posted - I stuffed my knee. I'm not exactly sure how I did it but OMG it hurt. I thought I had just jarred it a little and stopped running waiting for it to heal. Over the course of a week it got worse and worse until I ended up in the emergency department because I could barely walk.
It took another two to three weeks for me to be able to run on it again, in the end, I ended up starting c25k again.
Since my start in the middle of August things have been going well.
I've got out of bed for my workouts, I haven't had to repeat and I've been progressively feeling fitter.
On Saturday I completed W3D2. I'm now doing three minute intervals. The first day of the intervals was OMG hard. The last minute and a half and of the final three minute interval felt like five minutes... the time dragged, I was puffed and my mind kept telling me I couldn't do it. But I dug deep and finished. It was an awesome feeling.
I was even more proud of myself because I was out visiting my mum who lives on a property in an undulating part of the state. A complete shock after the incredibly flat Bundaberg (seriously there is one hill - it's called The Hummock).
Tomorrow morning I'm back on home (and flat) turf and part of me can't wait.
Speaking of getting back home, I'm currently sitting in the Brisbane Airport waiting for my fight which does not board for another two hours. I'm so bored.
running,
