awesome! thanks for the info. i definitely want to check this out. i too fell in love /w anime after seeing akira back in the day. that is, if you don't count watching robotech, transformers, & voltron on TV as a kid.
Ya I'm pretty excited about this one. Akira and Ninja Scroll were one of my first two favorites. If you don't get to see this one at the Nuart, I believe they're doing a wider release of an English dubbed version.
Oh wow, my first two favorites were Akira and Ninja Scroll as well, but i feel like i may have told you this before... i'm pretty excited to say the least, i'm trying to get my friend craig to go, but the silly bastard never picks up his phone so i have to leave him like 3 or 4 messages before he finally gets back to me..... we'll see...
yeah, you could say that

or you could just say she already has a VERY tainted viewpoint based on "kiddy" anime; lots of girls running around in catholic school uniforms giggling away.... i know where she's comng from and i think its a little sad that something so mediocre was her initial basis of opinion... I guess it's like someone who goes to a house party or rave and they experience something anime for the first time as background imagery while the music from the event overlaps the soundtrack.... they're either going to be totally turned off completely(depending on whats playing) OR it may spark some interest and further some future research...
