(no subject)
Okay, school starts pretty soon so here's an update.
Summer. I enjoyed it. Started off with Capital Camps, which was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Then Summer School, which was okay. Then chill time. I love chill time.
My birthday was August 14th. I finally turned 15, months after the rest of the world. The day before my birthday, we visited distant family in NJ. We went boating and fishing, then kayaking, which I found is something I'd like to do more often. On my birthday, we drove to a hotel outside of New York, which was a birthday surprise for Jake and I. We spent the day wandering about in New York. We stood by last minute ticket booths, hoping to see Avenue Q or Spamalot. No such luck. We wandered, aimlessly. It rained. A lot. The next day was a lot better, we thought we saw Samuel L. Jackson, but it was just a wax figure. It was really convincing. I really wanted to go inside the Wax Museum but we didn't. Kevin wanted to go shoe shopping (of course) so we did a bit of that. I wanted to see some historical type things, like Ground Zero and the Statue Of Liberty, since I hadn't ever. Both were a disappointment. I thought Ground Zero would have a memorial or something, like the Vietnam Wall, but there wasn't, and it was just a fence around an empty area. Oh well, that's what I get for being somewhat ignorant, I guess. The ferry that took us to the Statue Of Liberty didn't get close enough to the statue, so I couldn't get a decent picture. Boo. A lot more wandering, but this time, in a different part of NY; the other part being the theatre part, and this was the business area. Then headed home. I think, in that weekend, I spent more time with my dad, than I ever have, in my whole entire life. I didn't even mind it. Weird.
More chill time. Yesssss. Spent buttloads of time with Becca. It was good stuff, for the most part. Except for when I started PMSing. Hah, you can only imagine. Had a 4 day marathon with her, it ended yesterday. As of right now I think we're both sick of each other.
We got our schedules for the upcoming school year. No longer a freshman, yesss. I called the guidance counselor and made a lot of schedule changes, so now I've got 2 classes with Becca first semester (photography and lunch), which is good, so I can still see her, and also make new friends. Bet you never heard me use those three words in a sentence. But I am planning to do exactly that. Anyways, second semester, I've got 5 classes with her, thanks to much planning on Becca's part, and much conversing with guidance counselors. I don't know how I feel about school, nervous, of course, that's a given, but everything else, I don't know. All I am sure of is that I have to start reading my summer reading book, hah. I haven't started =X
I've read pretty much every other book this summer, though. I want to go to the library sometime this week and get a history of every book I checked out this summer so I can get a feel for how many books I've read. I think that would be interesting.
Speaking of reading, I was looking for an LJ community that discusses books, not like an organized book club, but if someone's read a book recently that they want to talk about, they'd post about it, and what they thought and such. I most likely will have already read it, so I'd comment on what I thought, and we'd have a mini-discussion. Yeah, I'm a book nerd. Aaaaand I like it.
Oh yeah, yesterday we celebrated Kevin's 13th birthday. Today is his real birthday, but my mom works late today, so we celebrated yesterday. Becca came along. La familia went mini-golfing, which was kinda crappy. It was very hot out. Then to the mall, which sucked 'cause I got bitchy, and it was a crappy mall with pretty much nothing good except Borders. Becca & I had a mini-fight =X
I think that's all the LJ world needs to know. I'm not gonna care who reads it, or comments, or any of that stuff. This journal is for me. I'm gonna write as much as I want, whenever I want, and all that. Okay? Okay.
I don't spend nearly as much time on the computer as I used to, so no idea when I'll update again. Who knows. But I love my new user icon, hah.
Uhh yeah. I thought about working out this morning, but I think I'm gonna get back in bed and read.
