Montreal Comic Con 2011 edition. James Marsters was there. He dresses to the left. I have pictures.
Want copies? :-))
The whole weekend was, in balance, good. It did take me a while to get to the balance, though. This is where I vent. A lot. If you're not a negative person, skip through to the next paragraph. If you want to know how I truly felt, read this one:
There really didn't seem to be any true organization, certainly not with the volunteers. There did not seem to be anyone in a yellow shirt that really knew what was going on. I had VIP weekend passes, which included some very nice swag and a really great bag. There were VIP lines for signatures for Stan Lee, Adam West, Bruce Ward and James Marsters. That was all well and good, but the cost for Stan Lee and Adam West was $50 each, and $40 each for Ward and Marsters. If you didn't have something for them to sign, like a book or an action figure, you got to pay an extra $5 for one of their pictures. If you wanted to have your picture taken with them by a pro, get your wallet out, 'cause guess what? More money. Yes, I knew that it was going to cost money, but it was $40 for Lee and $60 EACH for West, Ward and Marsters. Really? Wow. Would have been nice, in the $180 that I paid for the tickets, EACH, if one of these options had been included.
This is the positive, and the positive was really great. The VIP access to the celebrities was really great, and they were, for the most part, exceptionally warm and gracious and grateful for their fans. The 1 hour of wandering around before the general public had access to the Con floor was very nice (no crowds=always a good thing). Last but not least, front row seats to James Marsters? NEVER a bad thing. My last hour of the convention totally made up for EVERYthing else.
Seriously, if you want proof of the Package, let me know. I'll send you the picture.
