Killing time before stats starts in 20 minutes. Woo!
I've decided that I'm going to take my lj in another direction. Its an idea I've been playing with for a little while, especially since I've upped my reading of political and entertainment blogs over the summer.
So, here's the scoop:
Along with my usual self-centered entries about all of my super exciting adventures (HAH), I'm going to start focusing on current events. I'm planning on posting 3 entries a week - one on the 2008 election, one focusing on the biggest non-election news piece at the time, and one strictly about entertainment and media (but not Britney. I'm sick of her. She sucked at the VMA's, is crazy and is losing her kids. Get over it). Not only will this put an interesting spin on my entries, it will also help me shape my skills as an op-ed writer. All of my journalism papers are supposed to be op-ed pieces, and I have a lot of trouble writing in this format.
I'll also post my school work in here too, because most of it is interesting. My second paper is on George Orwell's "Politics and the English Language" and if his message is still relevant today (my answer: OF COURSE IT IS. Orwell is the shit!). Then I get to compare two opinions pieces on the immigration issue and use Orwell's points to make my nut-graf clear.
Is this stupid? Will it be annoying to read about other things besides yours truly? Let me know...
Time for statistics... I'm a bit late, actually.
MUCH LOVE.
