Seriously? Now women could be forced to submit to an intrusive trans-vaginal ultrasound in order to terminate an unwanted pregnancy? What about victims of rape and incest? Way to victimize women even more.
And you want to let doctors hide information about the health of a fetus?? What if the family can't take care of a severely disabled child? How about the trauma of birthing a baby who won't survive the process? Thinking that you are going to have a relatively healthy baby (b/c no one can guarantee perfection) only to find out that your baby has Trisomy 18 (Edward's Syndrome) and won't live past birth would be horrific!
Can we focus on real problems people? If a woman does not want to continue a pregnancy it is no one's business but hers. How about diverting some of this energy to reforming Child Protection services so kids get the help they need? What about reforming the prison system so non-violent juvenile (and adult) offenders get actual rehabilitation so we can reduce the recidivism rate.
Continuing to fight a battle that women won in 1973 is just beating a dead horse. Get over it! Women have the right to make decisions about their health and bodies. And newsflash! We're more than incubators.
