Carnegie Mellon does a "Last Lecture" series, where a professor is asked to give whatever lecture they wanted, if they knew it would be their last. For Randy Pausch, it's only too true. I believe he's retiring from teaching, to live out what few days he has left with his wife and kids.
The man has pancreatic cancer, and he's in better health than I will EVER be. Definitely a man worth admiring. (Not just for his health. He's done some very amazing things.) I can only hope that when it is my time, I can be remembered in so genuine a manner.
Watch the video (part 1 of 10) I think this guy ranks right up there with Dick Feynman, in terms of people after whom I would model my life.
Just ... have a box of tissues nearby. It wasn't just my death flu/cold that made me need it.
