funny story: a friend of mine from work ran his iPod through the wash recently. his answer was to stick it in a jar of rice for a day. then he brought it to work, and asked one of his coworkers from another group for a whole shitload of dessicant packets.
the iPod works perfectly.
the moral of the story is: hooray for science!
