good saturday morning, avid readers
and let me tell you, there's nothing quite like waking up before 8am on a saturday morning. my team played the early (9am) game, so no lazing this morning. we won comfortably, don't know the score, probably by 15-20 points. i was very proud of how we played, good teamwork and hustle, they seemed to have a lot of fun. it's very satisfying to see the improvement in skill and attitude. we're 4-0 now.
so first off, it's my pleasure to say CONGRATULATIONS to mike & rachelle on the birth of michael vincent young, jr. on wednesday. (couldn't have just waited one more day) January 30, 2008 at 1:24 pm, 6lbs. 6 ozs., 19 inches. more pictures are available on http://www.theyounghome.org.
so, not much else, compared to that. my 25th was on thursday. lot of people from work were on a site visit to our office in turkey. the weather's been pretty chilly. it was trying quite hard to snow this morning, supposed to be successful on monday.
this weekend is carnival. we were going to go to köln this weekend, but their parade isn't until monday. there's also one in mainz on monday, but again, the weather. and there is also one in downtown wiesbaden tomorrow that i'll probably go to. i went to the weiber fastnacht festivities in mainz on thursday for my birthday.
in your continuing diesel updates, i filled up today for the first time since november.
so, after 7 weeks off for winter break, football is fiiinally back in deutschland! and wehen picked up right where they left off, losing 2-0 yesterday. they still haven't won since september, i just hope they have a decent enough second half and avoid relegation. eintracht frankfurt plays in berlin this weekend, they play their first home match next friday evening. i may attendabrate, if things fall into place.
i paid rent yesterday at $1.5274/€. things are steadily getting a bit out of hand.
