Avatar Power rating, chi, and technique trees

In Avatar benders can do amazing effects, however it takes precise usage of three different traits to bring this abilities to fruition. Take the water attack of “Water Whip”: First the user needs to know the technique, at least two dots in water elemental power rating, and the Chi to power it. A technique is powered by Chi for it’s basic effect and can increase the effect by spending more chi (up to the users power rating) to increase the damage range, speed, over all benefits, and (or) the area of the effect. In Avatar power rating judges a benders learned control over his/her element ranging from 1 to 5 (with a sixth dot being for those who are true masters). The fourth trait the goes into the users skill at bending is “truth” each character who bends can have a “truth” or “enlightenment” background that determines how much chi a bender can spend in any giving turn.

Example of power rating:

Fire Bending:
1st dot: can generate a handful of flame
2nd dot: Can generate a torch size flame
3rd dot: camp fire size
4th dot: can generate/control bond fire size
5th dot: can generate/control enough fire to engulf a battle ship in one turn

Chi rating is basic raw spiritual power, it is rated from 1 to 10.
