I watched Avengers Infinity War for a fourth time last night. So, it wasn't as brutal as the first 3 times, as I only teared up a few times

I like the fan theory that they were using Luis' truck, so he'll be the one to figure out something went wrong. If he can't figure out how to rescue Scott, he could call in Dr. Foster and Ava for help. It just depends on who got snapped out of our reality. I honestly would pay good money to have the opening of A4 be narrated by Luis to catch everyone up on what's happened during the time jump, as only Luis can. I think a little levity would be nice before delving into the darker stuff.
Pretty sure Clint's family got snapped out of existence, so now he's using his Ronin persona. There were a lot of people not shown on screen during the snap, so their fate is iffy. Will the Avengers put everything behind them to find an answer as a team, or will we see different groups trying different methods? One plus to the time jump is Cassie will be a teen, and I'm thinking she'll have been spending a lot of time trying to save her dad, and if he's already out, then working with him to rescue everyone. Be a nice set up for Young Avengers, which will be needed if the franchise keeps going and established actors reach the end of their contracts.
The real world firing of James Gunn leaves Guardians 3 in limbo. Will Disney hire a new director, and if so, who could keep the same levity? Taika Waititi is the obvious choice, but taking over a series which has been defined by another writer/director might be a poison pill other directors want to avoid because it's going to make them a target of angry fans. Perhaps with the arrival of Captain Marvel, they might decide to cancel Guardians 3 and rework some of the characters into a Captain Marvel movie?
Will Shuri become the Black Panther in the absence of her brother? I would love her to sass Tony about how his work is cute, but primitive. I think Tony would love seeing all the new tech, but will he wall himself off after watching Peter die?
So much rests on Captain Marvel. AM&TW gave us some bits to tie in to Infinity War, but CM will introduce a character in the 90s, explain where she's been, and then set it up for her to arrive in A4. Perhaps the end credits will show her version of the 90s pager thing Fury used, and show her receiving a message with the SHIELD logo and know it's time to head home. There's also a fan theory around that Doctor Strange did some tinkering in time, and knows that Captain Marvel is the only way to defeat Thanos, so he made it where she was gone all this time, but also gave Fury a way to contact her, telling him he'd know when that day came. Seemed like Fury took one look at what was happening and knew immediately to hit the pager before he himself disappeared. Did Strange or someone else do a bit of traveling to the 90s and give him a heads up?
Interesting that you should mention Guardians 3, as Dave Bautista is in the headlines today about his displeasure with possibility of dropping Gunn's completed script. Cancelling the series could happen, but I bet Disney just recasts Drax and finds a new head. I really can't see them abandoning that series now.
I do like the Luis angle, as his doing the recap would be amazing. As for the rest, I guess we'll be waiting on Marvel to feed us starving fans. LOL
Since Drax is a heavy makeup job, it would be relatively easy to recast, at least from the studio POV. Might be hella awkward for the actors on both sides though, and the fan backlash against a replacement would probably be awful.
I don't think they'd completely abandon all of the Guardians characters, but with actors leaving from various series in the franchise in the coming years, I imagine they'll do some "mix and match" with the remaining characters. I never would have thought a Thor movie featuring Banner/Hulk would be among my faves in the MCU. We had Steve and Nat essentially team up in CA:TWS. So if they decide to write out Drax, could Thor or Captain Marvel join the team?
They're really being stingy on this one, aren't they? We don't even have a confirmed title for A4, because they say it will give away something. They're going to have to announce it at some point, and the end credits of Captain Marvel would be a likely place.
He may quiet down some now that they're definitely going use Gunn's script, but one never knows. That role could definitely be recast or, like you say, completely written out with the Snap. I think that we're not going to get any shred of info about anything for a long while. I think that I read somewhere that the Captain Marvel trailer may not be released until November-December.
I wonder if they'll start doing teasers before that point? Seems to be teasers come out around six months prior, then the go through variations of it over time until the final trailer about a month out.
Might be nice is they did some shorts not directly related to A4, but could show some things going on with the people we know survived. Not even the "big names" really. For example, how about a short about Peter's friend, Ned? Or Aunt May? We don't know the off screen survivors of the snap, but this could be a way to give some hints without giving up much detail about the big picture.
