I'm trying to tell myself that of course I don't need to make one with a green top and an orange body, but I kind of Do Want. It would be better if I had a small child or went to Halloween things, though. You could make it look almost like a real pumpkin, I think.
The main problem was that the cheap ebay wool felted very slowly (like, three trips through the dryer and a Gaelic war dance in the tub with an admiring kitten audience slowly) and the orange mill ends felted normally and harder, so it pulled in and the body still has a lot of stitch definition. I may actually make a Double Dumpling with that same wool (it needs Used Up) but I'll definitely hold off on decorating it until after it's felted.
