for a minute Jasper had it in his head that maybe Oliver was a mama kitty, which was very unnerving for Oliver. He just looked at me like WHAT THE HELLLL and I pushed Jasper away.
ask me how many times today I had a conversation that went 'you are very cute and you are braced against my leg very charmingly but if you think I'm going to pick you up and let you sleep on my hand again you can just go soak your fuzzy black head.'
awwwwww~! no wonder the poor baby got confused, it's a big black furry thing that hasn't actually bitten his head off yet for those needle-sharp little claws, so obviously it's gotta be mama!
Several years ago, my cat's former owners took it home with them for a vacation to visit her parents. Said parents had a 120 lb jet black lab. Cat's first reaction upon encountering the dog was to go straight up the wall to a height of about five or six feet and hang there on all claws, yowling horribly. About a week later, though, after discovering that the dog did not in fact eat cats, same cat had developed a crush on the dog. Kept trying to flirt and purr and slept all over the dog and kneaded and snuffled everywhere and I'm not sure if the dog even noticed the cat was there, on account of outweighing the cat more than 12 to 1 at the time... :)
Sorry, Oliver; I don't believe you. I mean, I have a cat who thinks my three ferrets are his siblings and who whines for them to come out of their room so they can all four play. He's not quite sure why they weigh about 4 lbs. each and he's around 12 pounds now, or why they have tails and he has a puffball, but he's sure that Mom (me) could probably explain it to him. If he was interested, that is.

This bit is CRUCIAL. Augh.
Jasper is the most adorable Squeaky Lord and Master ever. I see his entitlement whore trait is developing quite nicely.
