It was just now I finally worked out that Nino is the one at the beginning of Typhoon Generation talking on the phone. >_> I just always assumed it was Sho!
I'll get back to hooker fic in a minute, but I've been spending the afternoon alternately looking at shawl patterns and working on
muimi07's baby blanket. (I ended up ripping it out, nearly a square foot worth, and restarting. And restarting. The third time I told it to Stop That, and so far it has. Mostly. Mercifully even I have a hard time going totally OCD over something that will probably be thrown up on at least five times.)
I kind of want this like burning only it's a PDF file and I don't have a printer on this machine, and I have an awful feeling in my heart that it's totally charts and I loathe charts. I can sort of follow them if I have to, but working backwards like I do kind of makes things apt to end in tears. ...I'll probably buy it anyway. She has another super-popular one that I kind of like but probably won't make because it's called Icarus, and uh.
The other shawl I was looking at was
this one, which I'm seriously considering for the AibaJun yarn project, even though the thought of paying twelve dollars plus shipping for a freaking pattern makes me kind of break out in hives. Soft Horizons sells stuff from that company, so I might drift over meaningly and find out about it. Also, I think it would make me want to kill myself, but dammit, if I'm going to make a freaking handspun shawl it's going to be a freaking work of art! Two hundred years from now I want someone to take that son of a bitch out and wonder what type of crazy person did that! (There's other potential problems involving the fact that the Aibajun yarn is acutally not technically laceweight so far and the strong possibility I may not make 1600odd yards out of it. I will freak out about that later, I think.)
