Do you think UPS trucks have a distinctive motor sound on purpose, or is it just because of the engine type? Maybe it's just how delivery vans are made? Because I can hear when a Fed-Ex or UPS van is going down the street.

And now I'm listening quite hard for one and only hearing garbage trucks, because my bag (violet, not that terrible UO green and yellow) is on a UPS truck for delivery and I am hoping wistfully it will get here before I get on a bus to see Green Hornet.

(I seem to be in a tote phase right now. I'm sure it will end soon enough.)

Speaking of going to movies, isn't it funny what strange petty dishonesties people have? For instance, I never, ever show my bus pass to either of the regular drivers on my morning commute. They never ask to see it because they know I have one (or don't care), but when I don't have a pass, I am careful about buying one. Even though as long as it's those two drivers, I could get away with it. (The second driver on my commute actually pulled over at my stop yesterday even though I hadn't pulled the cord yet. He apparently tries to get that route every rotation, though.)

But even though I am scrupulous about that, when I go to the movies, it's 'buy a bunch of candy the day before and drop a cola in my bag' all around. Why, no, sir, I have no idea how this candy store ended up in my knitting bag. How strange!

waketosleep thinks it's because the one day I fail to buy a ticket, there will be a fare inspector somewhere, and I know it, and also because if those dicks at Regal chose to charge $3.50 for 12 oz of soda that is mostly ice, they get what they deserve.

random, rl
