I miss you :(
We still have no net access at home, and after
sveinn chased it up today we discover that Sky have majorly buggered up and it will be another 2 weeks before we get connected.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
*breathe*
After the shenanigans with the landlady, we got our deposit back, and she really is taking the piss. Out of £700 she has taken nearly £500 to cover various things, most of which is unreasonable. Not only that, but she has to get little digs in about what bad people we are for essentially hitting a rough patch and inconveniencing her. I get the sense we are being blamed for things that are not our fault and that she has some major issues with the world. Well, she ain't getting away with taking our money. Charging us £50 for a lamp that was broken when we moved in is a bit much. She really is a piece of work.
I'm applying to volunteer in Oxfam, mainly as I'm itching to get back into a routine and do something useful, and also as it will serve as a useful CV builder as I've not been working for a bit. I'll be looking for a part time job shortly, as I try and get some self-employed stuff going on as well.
Steve fractured his elbow, not sure if he reported that one yet. Anyway, he did. Went flying over a chain whilst running for a train (oooh rhymeage). He's not been able to work so he has lost money (being essentially self-employed), so there will be compensation to be paid. He had a check-up today and there's nothing he can do but wait it out.
That's it.....off to hand in my application forms for Oxfam. Then home to cook dinner. Until the next tiem I'm able to get on a library pc................
