Playlists are the only reason I ever exercise. Mind you, I only occasionally exercise currently because I have excuses that are twelve miles long.

Once school starts again, I am planning on doing it every day, though. You just have to put it in your schedule. I do elliptical 75% of the time. The other 25% I do treadmill, and literally, I pick between the two (and also how long I am going to go) based on how tired I am and what playlist I want to listen to. Some music is better for running, others for the elliptical. And I have playlists in 30 and 45 minute forms, and most of it is set up in a general pattern that makes me want to either go faster or slower, for intervals (but never too slow, unless its warm up or cool down, because nothing makes me want to stop exercising more than a song that just doesn't have the exercise beats). Sometimes, I also don't really know what I am going to do until I see what machines are open (ellpticals fill up faster than treadmills). These slight changes, like being on different kinds of ellipticals on different floors, with different views, and having specific goals, like running two miles at a certain (very pathetic) speed keep it interesting enough for me. Then I do strength and flexibility at the end for about 15 minutes. Mostly I do the exact same stuff, which is generally situps, pilates, and stuff I learned when I was a synchronized swimmer. I very often actually don't WANT to leave the gym, but I tell myself that I have to because at any given time, there are 900 things I should be doing instead of being a gym rat. This makes it easier to justify, as well, because I know it will never take more than an hour and a half, including changing and showering.

Hihi.... that's a meta-excuse! :-)

Yeah, I really do enjoy making playlists. I think my life is too unplanned these days. The only thing I have on my schedule is: go to work. I suppose if you only put one thing on your schedule, that is the thing to do, but I don't have anything that is planned before or after that, and consequently I do a lot of nothing. It's starting to become a problem. My life, it is kind of the opposite of yours these days.

I really want someone to just come and MAKE me do something, like a coach or personal trainer or pushy sister or something. Motivation, inner drive, personal goals, these are things with which I am not acquainted.
