Sometimes being an adult is annoying.
When I have to stay up late to do boring things like wash dishes or put away laundry, or when I have to go to work early to catch up on paperwork, I think to myself, what is this nonsense!! Being an adult is SUPPOSED to mean you can do whatever fun things you want!
And then I have to do something I want, like eat a marshmallow or make up a ridiculous song to sing to my students. Today with my third graders, we were talking about silver and gold. In Korea, people always say "gold and silver," (금하고은) but in English we always say "silver and gold." My students asked why, and I said I thought it was because gold rhymes with more stuff.
With silver and gold,
I'll never grow old,
I'll never get cold
With silver and gold.
I shall be so bold,
With silver and gold.
So I'll get a mold
For silver and gold.
With silver and gold
My life shall unfold
I'll buy all that is sold
With my silver and gold.
The end!
