Today was beautiful, one of those days I got to go in and rejoice with the kids about how much sleep we all got to have, coming in at 8:40 instead of 7:50. Mmmhmm.

It was career day, but the person I was supposed to host in my classroom could not make it, so I got to do whatever I wanted. I spent the first timeslot writing quiz reviews, the second with a stockbroker, and the third with the actor, whom I used to teach. At lunchtime (because my friends, who were supposed to take me to lunch for my birthday, ditched me), I decided to hang out with the various alums who had come to career day, and I met someone who has co-piloted with Jason's dad. Very cool.

Today I also made tilapia-zucchini-summer squash-tomato stirfry on pasta. mmmm. I drank some pinot grigio with it and was waxing philosophical about the taste of each bite as I ate it, now tilapia, now tomato, now basil, what a lovely combination.

And I finally finished washing the dishes.

On my actual birthday I ate the seaweed soup, black rice, and chapchae that my Korean tutor made for my birthday, and drank the rest of the black cherry lambic Alexis had brought, and polished off the rest of the coconut cream pie while watching Don Juan De Marco. Oh yes. It made me miss Jason though.
