Today was dinner & scrabble with Amelia, and her housemate Matt, and Liz.

We're like a week behind in terms of trying to consume all our vegetables from the farmshare we have, which is simultaneously very exciting and very exhausting.

My friend Megan is trying to do a 100-mile diet, consuming only foods and beverages from a 100-mile radius. It's really cool and impressive, but seems really tiring, also. Maybe I could do that if I did nothing else, but just doing the farmshare is work enough.

We had lasagna, with minced zucchini and pretend chicken layered in (Amelia won't eat anything she's known, named, or loved, which includes most farm animals); yellow wax beans with slivered almonds; cheesy potato goodness which was not cooked quite long enough; salad mix with halved orange cherry tomatoes; chianti and Vernor's to drink; Korean cinnamon juice for dessert.

It was all such good food that made us feel better.

And then we played a 551-point Scrabble game, which Matt won, and chatted about our lives and argued about word viability.

It was a beautiful, beautiful evening.
