But why don't you use a grittier, bigger version of those tube transports in the first pages?

You know, back when you posted about that future train and future train platform months ago you seemed to be considering several alternatives. When the tube transports appeared at the beginning I thought that the train had metamorphosed into tube transports and I felt that it was great, superlative, fabulous.

When last week's train appeared I had quite a surprise. Turns out that the announced train had not metamorphosed into a tube transport but was something else!

Well, I very specifically didn't want to use an identical design -- two different planets, two different overall looks to the cities and the sorts of public transportation that they use. On the other hand, I really didn't mean to reset myself back to the 1920s, either! The look I've got now is more like a monorail kind of thing, and I'm a little happier with it. (And I'm glad you like the tubes. :))

It looks more like a gritty future now. Before it looked like a timeless theme park ride thought up to recreate the past.
