I have a greek god for a boyfriend

Erright, I've gotta say it.

I've had an amazing day.

I didn't do the whole marathon, but I'm ok with that.  I really am.  I wasn't really ready for it and I did the half marathon instead and blew away my previous time and set a new PR.  I had a sweaty grin on my face for most of the race, including the 7-10 mile stretch.

Alex woke up with me, drove me to the race an hour early and he waited the whole time (1:55:56) for me so that he could be there at the finish line.  What a metaphor, right?  He's there for me at the beginning, warming my shoulders and is there shouting and clapping his hands for me at the end.  Dan came out to cheer me on at the end of the race and it feels great knowing I have a friend who will be there for me also.

I was having a hell of a stomach problem when we got home.  Alex went out to go get me the paper and returned with that, a pint of my favorite Ben and Jerry's ice cream and a bunch of Gerber Daisies!  What a wonderful guy!

It was a pretty lazy day and I was fine with that.  Alex helped me make dinner-- I toiled over some mushroom and asparagus risotto and he helped stir and chop veggies.  He did all of the dishes and I can't stop blabbing about how nice he's been to me.  The risotto was good and we watched a movie and read the paper.  It's pretty early but he doesn't feel good so we're heading to bed in a bit.

I just feel good.  Good race, wonderful boyfriend, tasty dinner... what else could I ask for?

alex, racing
