Sooooooo I'm home from trip #1 to Canada. It was.. okay. Trips to Canada don't ever really mean vacation. I go there at least once a year, and I'll be there at least 3 times in the next year because of everything going on there with my family. So it's not like I ever do fun, tourist-y things when I'm there. Although I did get to go downtown twice, which is always fun; wish I could spend more time there but with the G20 happening it wasn't the safest place to be... all the protesters and high security and whatnot. xP Mainly I just sat around my Zia's house and played video games (thank god her son has a PS3! lol) or went on the computer. Kind of like I do at home. Lame.
I also had to celebrate my 21st birthday. In Canada, the legal drinking age is 19, so it wasn't even a big deal lol But we did go to a bar. I'm not one for alcohol; despite what many may think I DON'T get drunk easily, it takes a lot (and I mean a lot, and one after the other, not breaking) of drinks to get me wasted. But it was still fun to go out with my cousins. :] We went to a teppanyaki restaurant where they cook in front of you, and I got to go up and learn to do one of the tricks. It was pretty fail actually... I had to try 5 times before I could get it. xD I'm not a chef, if you can't tell (baking on the other hand... I'm amazing).
So I got home yesterday. My family (including aunts, cousins, uncles etc) all went to dinner to celebrate my aunt and uncle buying an office for their business, which they've been running out of their own home thus far. They took us all out and I got to order my first drink in America. Blue Hawaii. It was yum, but a little too strong. But still yum. I love fruity drinks like that, where you can't really tell you're drinking. :]
TONIGHT... and I'm super excited... I'M BUYING A PUPPY.
I FINALLY got approval from my parents. Well, my dad doesn't really care so long as I pay for it, my mom was the one to convince. But she finally caved and agreed that I did deserve it. I'm not one to ask for anything, I only have to ask for this because I'm still living under their roof for another year at least. And I'll be taking the puppy with me when I move (which will hopefully be next fall, if I get into the film school I want! -crosses fingers- )
I'm applying for two film schools in Canada. ^_^ One of them is super-exclusive -- like, you need recommendations from casting directors and agents - but the other isn't. I'd be thrilled to get into either. <3 And I have so much family up there, I've already got cousins offering for me to live with them.
BUT THE PUPPY.
She's so effing cute. <3 I actually saw her the first time the day I left for Canada, almost three weeks ago now. Obviously, I couldn't get her before the trip. So I made the deal that, if she's still available when we get back to FL I can get her. Well lo and behold... I checked that website everyday, emailed the place, and she hasn't sold yet, by some miracle!! I'm taking it as a sign. <3 And I'm going to buy her tonight, if all goes well.
SO EXCITED.
I always considered myself a cat person, but I just fell in love with this little girl. Maybe because the breed has so many cat-like qualities? She's a long-haired chihuahua, which my sister also has (little Bambi, he's so cute!) and they're just a wonderful breed! They can be temperamental if not socialized well, but they stay very small and look simliar to cats, I find. Only they're a lot more playful, and loving with their owners, whereas the cats I've owned as a child never were.
I'm trying to come up with names for her.... It's hard! There are so many cute names for dogs. I'm welcome to suggestions too! ^_^ But so far I've come up with...
BACI (means 'kiss' in Italian. and it's also a brand of chocolate, which I think she looks like lol)

BLITZ (apparently means 'lightning' in German. and she has a lightning-bolt of white fur on her forehead. unfortunately the name's not very feminine..)
