Coming and Going
Cole looked around the desk that had been his home for the past six years. It had taken him longer than he thought it would to get up to Homicide from White Collar Crimes and he was ready to go. He packed up papers and supplies before packing up his personal things --Cardinals coffee mug, drawings Max had done. Most important to him were the pictures of his family.
Cole looked around at the others in the office. He wasn't close to them but he'd expected a little more reaction to his leaving than this. Of course, it might have helped if he'd been nicer to them but he'd honestly hoped to be out of this place a lot faster than it had happened.
He closed the box and headed out to the parking lot with it, climbing into his car. He drove to the 27th precinct and parked. He grabbed his things before heading into the squad room. This was -he was finally going to get to do what he wanted.
