It had been an interesting week filled with testimony from detectives, the teen boy on trial, as well as various doctors, teachers, and students. For the defense, the highlight had been the alleged coercion by the SVU detectives. It was possibly enough to undermine the accidental trigger-pulling by Alex Lumberg. On the other hand, an innocent boy was dead. Surely someone had to pay for that, regardless of whether it was an accident. Both families had been sitting in the gallery all week long.
After the defense rested their case, the Judge nodded at Riley Toth, indicating that it was his turn to being closing arguments.
