The rustle of bodies sitting dies down after Judge Feldman calls court to session. He surveys the room for a moment; like the previous days, it is packed with press and onlookers. Again, Eloise Ross is sitting regally in the front; though Alan Shore is present, Jamie Ross is not with him.
"The People may present their closing argument," Judge Felman finally says.
"Thank you, Your Honor." Casey gets up, and with a very somber look on her face, makes her way to the front of the jury box.
"Clarsse Fletcher," she begins, indicating Fletcher, "took the law into her own hands. She was known to be violent to her employees; then she found out that Dorothy Cahill and Bambi Allen were stealing from her, stealing from the clients, and she made the decision to to teach them a lesson." She pauses. "Ladies and gentlemen, you've seen the murder weapon...the weapon that detective's found in Ms. Fletcher's apartment wth her prints on it. You've heard Ms.Allen's testimony as to Ms. Fletcher's whereabouts the night of the murder." She gripped the edges of the jury box with both hands in order to look at the twelve people imploringly. "Clarisse Fletcher made an example of Dorothy by shooting her in the head, and she took care of the only witness, Steve Ross, the same way." Casey pauses for effect before stepping back. "Ladies and gentlemen, Ms. Fletcher murdered two people; there is no doubt of that. Now you must do your duty," she pauses, looking at each of them, "find her guilty. Thank you."
Casey turns away and returns to her seat.
