Halloween party [group RPG]
The following invitation was received at some point in the last couple of weeks by Manhattan NYPD and District Attorney’s Office Employees.
You Are Invited to the
Manhattan NYPD/District Attorney’s Office
Annual Halloween Party!
When: October 31, 2008
Where: The Foundry
When: 7:00PM - 12:00AM
There will be games for the kids, dancing and entertainment for the adults
and of course, candy for all!
Admission: $5/person. Children under 12 free.
*Note: As we did last year, for the purposes of all this, let’s assume the Foundry is located in Manhattan and not in Long Island City. It’s the perfect venue other than location. Also - please assume that every year, they’re charged admission. It’s just a practical detail I’ve apparently left out until now.
The Party.
The Foundry’s atmosphere, already decidedly creepy, is enhanced by Halloween décor - for starters, cobwebs and fake mummies flank the entrance. An off-duty uniform dressed as Frankenstein and an ADA dressed as The Corpse Bride are taking admission and greeting people.
Inside, there are already people milling about - families and couples and loners come and go throughout the night. In one section, there are long tables with snacks, candy and punch set out. There is an area for dancing, with music playing (mostly pop, oldies and Halloween classics like the Ghostbusters theme, Thriller, etc.).
Finally, there is a section partitioned off as the “kiddie area”. There is bobbing for apples, musical chairs, a cakewalk and movies like It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown are playing in the background.
Please leave your character introductions - how they come in/who they come in with/what they’re wearing - as comments to this post. The actual group RP will be done in group chats from now until we’re done/until everyone who wants to come has brought whatever characters they want and done what they want to do. I will start the chat on Saturday and people can come and go as they please all weekend. The chat will be a specific chat room name, which I will post to chelsea_piers following this post, so that even if I’m not around, the festivities may go on.
