“ Would you like to have dinner with me?”
Megan and Alex stood in awkward silence; it didn't matter who said the words, only that they were said. It was after the 'Lee' case, and they had just finished wrapping up the paperwork. Megan bit her lip, and Alex's eyebrows knitted together, as if confused by the double-meaning in the seemingly innocent question; Megan rocked back on her heels and sighed, bracing herself for the rejection that was sure to follow.
“ Uh, yeah. O'Malley's?”
Megan blinked slowly, before letting a small, surprised smile grace her features. “ Sure, my treat.” Alex smiled back at her, and Megan felt dizzy at the sudden feeling of butterflies in her stomach.
