Alex Eames was a very good vice cop, and one of the reasons why was that she made a very convincing streetwalker.
She’d never found it particularly hard, really. Too much makeup, big clunky earrings, and whatever skanky bargain-bin clothes you could find were usually sufficient. And the walk and the talk didn’t take too long to master.
She gave her best smile at to the man coming down the street, and pitched her voice high as she propositioned him. He smiled back, as friendly as could be. She could tell he didn’t do this very often. Probably married.
They walked a short way to the nearest cheap hotel, and as she slipped off her jacket she heard him ask “So how much?”
“That depends,” she replied, back to her normal voice. She pulled out her badge and turned to face him.
He was holding a badge too.
They stared at each other for a moment before they both gave a half-hearted laugh. “What are the odds?” Alex asked, putting her badge away.
“Not too good. Vice?”
“Yeah. You?”
“Special Victims. Stabler.”
“Eames.” She threw her jacket back on. “I guess this means I’m doing something right.”
“You had me fooled.”

A/N: I don’t know exactly how long Stabler’s been in SVU, or how long ago Eames was in Vice, so I’m not sure if the timeline precisely works out…but this was just too good to resist.
