Summary Continuation of Temporary Duty Ross & Company discuss the new detective and Cragen informs his detective of his transfer
Ross opened the personnel file and snorted, “Cragen, you bastard.”
“Eames, Goren, Logan get in here.”
“What’d you two do this time” Eames asked.
“Why do you always assume it’s us?” Logan asked.
“Experience.”
“You wanted something Captain?
“Any of you know Munch from SVU?”
Goren and Logan both nodded, “Yeah, but just socially,” Mike volunteered.
“What about you Goren?
“Guy I worked Narcotics with partners with him, why?”
“He’s going to be Wheeler’s temporary replacement, wondered what anyone might know.”
“Fin says he’s the best, not that he’d ever want Munch to know he said that,” Bobby said.
“Lennie Briscoe thought he was great, that’s good enough for me.” Mike added.
“Good you’ll partner with him, Logan,” Ross decided.

“Munch, with me,” Cragen said as he strode towards his office.
Fin, Stabler and Benson all gave Munch looks that simultaneously said WTF and conveyed their sympathies.
Munch shut Cragen’s door while trying to figure out how to defend himself when he didn’t know what he’d done wrong.
“John sit down and stop worrying, I’m not going to chew you out.”
“Then what’s up?”
“You’re being transferred.”
“But”-
“It’s just temporary, six weeks at most. Major Case is shorthanded and wants, quote, an experienced detective with a record for being able to handle high profile cases and hot-headed partners. I’d love to oblige them, but you’re the best I can do.”
“Very funny, well at least you’re not sending Elliot.”
