Wow, I am honestly so amazed and happy to see so that so many familiar faces and voices of old friends are still writing here! When I left, I guess I just assumed, everyone else was petering off journaling here as well. I was getting mini-updates on quite a few of you on Facebook, but that really isn't the same. So yay on having the opportunity to really getting to catch up on some of your lives again!
Apparently my last post here was March 9, 2011, which seems like another lifetime ago. And yet ironically, there haven't been a ton of changes. A few weeks ago, I finished a round of a different chemotherapy to attempt to put my movement disorder (via the autoimmune disorders) in check. The jury is still out on if it has helped to improve things.
I am still unemployed, yet delusional and attempting to apply for jobs in my bursts of energy and mental frustration. I write my health and wellness blog, and I am a dating and relationship columnist for a UK online dating site. I enjoy both, but neither of them pay anything at this point. I finally took advantage of the popularity of my anonymous dating and relationship blog to join a blogging syndicate, so I do get to write sponsored posts, now and then, that yield some pocket money.
In a couple weeks, my one-year integrative nutrition course ends, and I am official as a certified holistic health coach. I've had my business name, web site, and even a client. The last day of school, I have my first real public workshop, which I am praying I am healthy enough to finish fully preparing for and physically get through.
I have aspirations for continuing onto becoming a tai chi/qigong instructor one step at a time, to implement into my practice. I pondered yoga and being a personal trainer as well, but the latter doesn't really speak to me and being a yoga teacher is increasingly SO popular that I wonder if the field will be overly saturated. Medical qigong and tai chi for preventative health especially really excites me. So we'll see how that goes.
Onto the juicy stuff: dating. Quite honestly, I had a truly twisted seven months of dating. Two pseudo-relationships with confused boys still messed up from their previous marriages. One relationship with a significantly older man who could be quite fun and adventurous (and actually got me to go on a 12-mile bike ride, which was an awesome achievement by itself!!), but could be too condescending in a fatherly way. I already have a great father, thank you - don't need another one. We petered out naturally.
And then I met this great guy I've been dating for the last four weeks. He's incredibly intelligent, passionate about life, spiritually tapped in and we have a lot of big-picture and small things in common. We connect on some amazing levels, exciting and stimulating each other mentally, emotionally and more. ;) I got along really well with his closest friends in the area, and he got the thumbs up from one of my dear friends last weekend. If I've learned anything about this last year of dating, I can't guess what may happen tomorrow, let alone in a few weeks. But I'm crossing my fingers.
